Leonardt Lauenstein, son of German father and Brazilian mother, born in the town of Tsumeb, Namibia on 9 October 1985. At 9 years came to live in Brazil, living in Minas Gerais .In 2002, went to study in Rio de Janeiro.
In 2007, the interventional idea began. Working with the leaked cut, stencil, creating the first images that gave a preview of future work. The idea evolved and now operates in several segments with artistic urban interventions, sculptures, furniture building, body painting,” poster and painting on canvas.
In 2010 he graduated in Industrial Design, Product Design from the University of Rio de Janeiro City, always very focused on and alternative processes. Searching references of his childhood in Namíbia, such as animals, clothing and in current issues as critical social, political and economic, the remarkable features of his works are bright colors, pictures provocative, sexy and controversial, abstract painting with innovative technique. The unique trait of Leonardt Lauenstein that can be seen on the streets of Rio de janeiro and exhibitions.

Project for NYBA: "Survive"

Continue to live after another. Resist, cope, escape, survived all the crises. The artist shows paintings,depicting an idealized moment of survival, with a look forward, penetrated into the present. With paintings ranging from Stencil, spray painted with the Molotov-effect, a technique developed by the artist himself, from a popular joke in northeastern Brazil, which consists of a water war with balls made ​​of paraffin.
